Bandcamp Daily just featured a retrospective on my first band, COUCH, formed in 1992 with Dr. Pete Larson, and takes our paths to present day. READ IT HERE!

  1. “Jim Magas? I worked with that guy at the Army Surplus store!” ~ quote from my cousin, who I was staying with at a party house in Ann Arbor at the time you were doing your Couch stuff. If you performed any of it live, I never got to hear it, but I did hear you at Fireside with LOD (heard Jaks a year or two before same venue, on a semi related tangent) and then again in Milwaukee, warming up for Adult.; lastly solo at Reckless and that might be the last time I’ve heard you do anything, but I’ve kept an ear out for you. I think Violent Arp is my favorite album, and I wish it would have been listed among these, but I’m glad BC is giving you a send up. Really well deserved. Cheers and hope to hear you again soon!

    1. Hi Adam, “The guy from Harry’s Army Surplus” is a title I did hold, along with “that’s the Tower Inn Pizza guy”. Glad you’ve been checking out the shows over the years. I like Violent ARP a lot, too. That and ‘Accuser’ are pretty similar–using the ARP like a guitar and making a ‘rock’ sound. Yes, Couch played live a number of times. There’s some Youtube documentation. At the moment, I’m trying to focus on film work but I’ll play live when time permits. I usually ‘blast’ it on social media and try to get it on here. Thanks for taking the time to write and coming to all those shows!
