A few months ago, I started a new Substack called College Biker. It’s a bit different from this website, as this one is intended as a home base with news, links, media, etc. College Biker is more free-form…mostly focused on writing, storytelling, curating, etc.

The debut post featured a PDF download of the original print edition of College Biker from 1995, which featured early (and possibly first) interviews with Tom Smith (To Live and Shave In LA), Harry Pussy (Bill Orcutt‘s old band), a Flying Luttenbachers tour diary, cartoons and reviews by Holy Mountain, writing by Tony B and lots more.

In the latest post, Dharma of Anti-Garage, I talk about my music-hustlin’ over the years, focusing on the necessity, fun and naivete of doing one’s own PR for all the weird music I’ve made or sold, for label’s I’ve run or record stores I’ve worked in. I did my own narration, it’s a bit like a podcast but it’s strictly narration with minor ad-libs. I had fun doing this and it seems to be the gold standard, moving forward. I’ll probably retroactively do this for the older posts, as time allows.

Right now, I’m focused on developing NEFARIAC, my new duo with Weasel Walter, as well as gig-work to earn myself more time to work on these projects and maybe a couple of others!
